Frequently Asked Questions

Stainless steel sinks

Can stainless steel sinks rust?

Stainless steel sinks cannot rust, provided that the sink is regularly cleaned and maintained and that it is exposed to normal household use. See tips for using and maintaining a stainless steel sink to make sure your sink will be in use for years to come.

Why do stains appear on the surface of the sink and how can they be prevented?

Stains usually form from limescale deposits, which retain dirt particles. The appearance of limescale depends on the “hardness of the drinking water” in the appropriate area.
The best way to avoid such stains is to wipe the sink and dry it after use. However, if stains appear, we recommend a solution of water and vinegar (in a ratio of 2:1), which will “soften” the scale and allow easier removal with cleaning utensils. For more persistent stains, use appropriate descaling cleaners.

Can stainless steel sinks be scratched?

Stainless steel is an extremely durable surface. However, since the sink is exposed to everyday use, traces of use and small, surface scratches will certainly appear on its surface. Over time, the scratches will be less and less noticeable, since this effect will become uniform on the surface of the sink.

What is the difference between a sink with a polished and embossed surface?

Both types of sinks are made of stainless steel of the same properties and quality, so the only difference is in appearance. While polished sinks have a high gloss, embossed sinks show less traces of limescale on the surface.

What are the ways to install a Metalac sink?

Metalac sinks are available in three variants – top-mounted, inset and
undermount.

See sink installation instructions.

What is a sink dressing?

The overflow is an opening on the vertical side of the sink, which prevents water from overflowing over the sink in case of clogging of the main opening, which prevents the occurrence of possible flooding in the kitchen.

XGranit sinks

What does XGranit material consist of?

XGranit is a composite material, whose main ingredient is quartz – the hardest element of granite, which is why these sinks are also known as “granite sinks”. Quartz, which makes up 80% of the composition of the XGranit sink, is mixed with acrylic resin and the appropriate pigment. The final product is a material of exceptional strength and resistance.

Are XGranit sinks resistant to high temperatures?

XGranit sinks are resistant to temperatures up to 280 o C.

Are XGranit sinks resistant to shocks and scratches?

Thanks to the high percentage of quartz (80%), XGranit sinks have high strength, which makes them resistant to shocks and scratches. Normal shocks that can occur due to daily use (shocks from dishes during washing, etc.) cannot damage the XGranit sink.

Are XGranit sinks hygienically correct and can they be used with food?

Yes – XGranit is completely safe.

How are XGranit sinks cleaned and maintained?

Thanks to the smooth surface, cleaning the XGranit sink is very easy. You can view the maintenance instructions here.

Can XGranit sinks fade over time?

The non-structure of the material is such that its composition is uniform, which is why the usual use in the household will not cause any changes in color. Also, the color is resistant to the sun’s rays.

Can stains appear on the surface of the XGranit sink?

Stains on the surface of the sink usually form from limescale deposits, which retain dirt particles. The appearance of limescale depends on the “hardness of the drinking water” in the appropriate area. Limescale deposits are easily removed with ordinary detergent or a solution of water and vinegar (in a ratio of 2:1).

What causes the appearance of dark marks and lines on the surface of the sink?

Dark stains and lines may appear on the surface of the XGranit sink due to contact with metal objects (dishes, kitchen utensils), which is especially noticeable on lighter sinks. Such traces are removed by simply scrubbing with a kitchen sponge and water, and ordinary detergent is used for stronger stains.
